Marketplace Fee Schedule

Strictly Surf charges a platform fee of 6.5% on the item subtotal of each captured marketplace order. The fee covers ship-or-refund coverage, hosting, dispute review, and platform operations.

Example: a $500 sale with the 6.5% platform fee yields a $467.50 pre-processing payout for the seller.

The buyer's card processor (Stripe) charges a per-transaction processing fee. Stripe's standard rate at time of writing is 2.9% + $0.30 for U.S. cards; international cards and certain payment methods may differ. The exact processing fee is calculated by Stripe at capture and deducted from the seller's payout.

Sales tax is calculated automatically at checkout via Stripe Tax based on the buyer's shipping address. Tax is paid by the buyer on top of the item subtotal and is never deducted from the seller payout. See the buyer-protection policy and refunds policy for tax handling on partial refunds.

Shipping is paid by the buyer at checkout (rate-shopped through the platform). The label cost is reimbursed to the seller via the order ledger; no markup is applied to shipping by Strictly Surf.

• Funds are capturedfrom the buyer when the carrier records the first tracking scan on the seller's shipping label.
• Funds are releasedto the seller's connected payout account after a delivery-confirmation hold (default 3 business days from delivery).
• Stripe transfers the released balance to the seller's bank on their account's default Stripe payout schedule (typically daily for U.S. accounts). Sellers are emailed when each payout is released.

• Pre-label cancellations(by buyer or seller) carry no platform fee and no processing fee. The buyer's authorization is voided.
• Once the seller has bought a shipping label,the order cannot be canceled. The label is a commitment to ship. If the seller never actually hands the parcel to the carrier (no first scan), the buyer's authorization is never captured and auto-expires at the ship-by deadline. The buyer is refunded automatically. The seller's standing is impacted under the seller agreement, and Strictly Surf absorbs the label cost as a platform expense; the seller is not invoiced for it.
• Post-scan refundsfollow the refund-and-disputes workflow. Stripe processing fees on a captured-then-refunded transaction are not recovered by the processor and are deducted from the seller's portion of the refund.

Platform fees are refunded proportionally on partial and full refunds. Stripe processing fees are not refunded by the processor; the seller is responsible for the original processing fee on refunded sales. Sales tax follows Stripe Tax's reconciliation on partial refunds and is shown line-by-line on the buyer's refund receipt.
